How TryCatch Limited handles personal data collected through trycatch.ie.
Last updated 28 October 2026
Who we are
TryCatch Limited is a company registered in Ireland (company no. 695009), with its registered office in Mayglass, Co. Wexford. We are the controller of the personal data described in this notice. For anything about it, email hello@trycatch.ie.
This notice covers this website and enquiries made through it. It doesn’t cover personal data we process on a client’s behalf during our work; the client is responsible for telling the people concerned about that.
What we collect and why
When you visit the site
- The site sets no cookies and saves nothing in your browser’s storage, and neither does our analytics.
- Fonts and images are served from the site itself, so no third party learns about your visit from them.
- To deliver each page, our hosting provider handles your IP address and the technical details your browser sends with a request, such as the page asked for and the browser type. We don’t keep logs of visits ourselves.
- We count visits with Plausible Analytics, a cookieless service hosted in the EU. It records the pages viewed, the site you came from, your browser, device type and country. To count unique visitors it briefly uses your IP address and browser details to make a daily identifier that can’t be traced back to you; it doesn’t store your IP address, and we only see aggregated statistics.
Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website and understanding how it is used.
When you contact us
- If you send the enquiry form or email us, we receive the details you give us: your name, work email and organisation, and if you choose to give them, your phone number, the area you’re interested in and anything you tell us about your project.
- The enquiry form emails your details straight to us. The website itself doesn’t store them.
- We use them to reply, to discuss your project and any proposal with you, and to keep a record of our conversation.
- We don’t sell your details, and we don’t send you marketing unless you ask us to.
Contacting us is voluntary. To answer, we need your name, email address, organisation and a short description of your enquiry; without them we may be unable to respond. Everything else is optional.
Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries and exploring potential business relationships (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Where you personally ask us to take steps towards a contract with you, we may also rely on Article 6(1)(b).
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who process data for us, under contract and only on our instructions:
- Amazon Web Services hosts the site in its Ireland (EU) region, delivers it, and sends us what you enter in the enquiry form.
- Google (Google Workspace) receives the emails and enquiries sent to us.
- Plausible Analytics counts visits, as described above.
We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims.
Where it’s processed
We keep data in the EU where we can, and the site is hosted in Ireland. To load quickly, pages are delivered from the location nearest to you, which may be outside the EU if you are. Amazon Web Services and Google may process personal data outside the European Economic Area. Both are certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has found adequate, and their data processing terms include the Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
For more information about these safeguards, or a copy of them, email hello@trycatch.ie.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and our correspondence about them: up to two years after our last contact. If we go on to work together, for as long as we do and as long afterwards as the law requires.
- We don’t keep logs of visits. The enquiry form’s service logs only whether each enquiry was sent, never your details, and deletes that after 30 days.
- Amazon Web Services may keep its own operational records for security, under its own terms.
- Analytics: aggregated statistics only, which contain no personal data.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, and where the conditions for each right are met, you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct it, or delete it;
- restrict how we use it, or object to our using it;
- give it to you, or to another organisation, in a portable format, where that applies.
Email hello@trycatch.ie. Requests are normally handled free of charge and without undue delay, usually within one month. Some rights are subject to legal conditions or exemptions. Where the law allows us to extend the response period for complex requests, we’ll tell you why within the first month. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission, Ireland’s data protection authority, at dataprotection.ie, though we’d welcome the chance to put things right first.
Security
The whole site is served over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and its files are kept in private storage. Enquiries are seen only by the people at TryCatch Limited who handle them.
